Not Just Wood in the Andi-Le Studio

For the past few weeks I have been contemplating
the legs for my newest undulating bench design.
Steel felt too stiff, wood was not quite right,
so I started playing with acrylic.
I have been using acrylic as an accent for years.
I love how it works with the warm, textures of wood.
One of my signature approaches to acrylic is to sand out
parts of the blocks to give a semi-transparency that captures light.
You can see how it works on the Andi-Le Alluvium Bench;
I also created a series of sculptural candles among other projects.

“Welding” acrylic and creating movement with this material,
was on my to do list, as well as the usually sanding.
Playing with this concept inspired a drink table.
Still under construction.
Stay tuned :)
