Scattered Hors d'eouvres?

Ahhh, The presentation!
Ideas are endless when you have fantastic serving pieces.
Trays allow you to create a vignette.-
keeping it neat and easy and tells a story.

For instance......
Take a warm brie cheese, and pare it with a fig jam
and a few nuts or dried fruit.
Have your crackers or baguette slices
ready for the perfect bite.

Or…..
A make you own martini bar.
Olives, onions, twists, cranberry juice,
vanilla beans (a personal fave) or vermouth etc etc etc….
can be arranged and for the options
to be easily at hand on a beautiful serving piece
instead of scattered on a counter.

Or.....
A dessert assortment. Cupcakes, cookies, fruit.
Bite-sized goodness all at a glance.

When you think "presentation" think outside of the kitchen.
A plank of wood, a mirror, a shallow drawer,
planters, left over tiles.
Make sure you invest in a few small dishes
for dips; condiments and cheese plates,
and then dedicate each serving piece to a different flavor group.

Relax, have fun and “Live Creatively”

Til Next Time,
xx

Aspen is in full-tilt holiday spirit.

The twinkle lights, the fresh snow, skiers,
and shoppers.
It is winter wonderland.
I never tire of the natural beauty
and the warm spirit.

It feeds my soul and inspires my work.
The beauty of this valley
is that you can find the wild side
or be as quiet as you like.

After 20+ years here, my appreciation
and awe of this landscape hasn’t waivered.
I am grateful for the huge array of friends
that let me into their world.

I wish you all peace and happiness!

Happy Holidays
Til next time,

xx

How to do (BRONCO) Game Day!

As Bronco fans, we have a game plan for game day.
The menu, the drinks and the shirt.
This week includes:

Spicy Humus
Homemade Nachos
Bacon wrapped Jalapeño poppers
Crudités, assorted cheeses
Chicken and white bean chili.
And...of course
Good friends>

Everyone will be situated around the cocktail table.
My issue with game day was the dripping dips,
and reaching across the visual plain of the TV.
OR that some folks only eat what is in front of him or her
and not tasting all the hors devours.

The Andi-Le "NOT SO" Lazy Susan
takes care of all of my controlling tendencies.

_____________________

Half time is chili time!
It has been simmering for hours to marry the flavors.

The toppings customize chili.
Another essential, reason to use a "NOT SO" Lazy Susan.
Tomatoes, cheese, sour crème, jalapeños, avocado,

are all easy to reach when creating a chili masterpiece.

_____________________

Besides the obvious, functional reasons
to own an Andi-Le "NOT SO" Lazy Susan,
they add style to your decor
with sculptural designs that
take entertaining to beautiful level.

SO......
When thinking about movie night and game day,
Entertain Creatively

til next time,
xx

P.S. GO BRONCOS!

A Few Design Musts!

I am in love with design that shows the passions and a life lived.
Displayed memories, special pieces and collections of art, animals, travel
show a life of experiences for all to see and for the owner to cherish.

We tell our story through our things and
they are a reflection of who we are and what is important to us.
Our things frame an idea and tell a story

The fine line is too many tchotchkes .
it also makes dusting a nightmare.
Balance is the key.

Select items carefully
Curate !
 keep it fresh...

Transitioning to Mountain Glam

One of my favorite pieces commissioned this summer
is a cocktail table from the Andi-Le line.

A magnificent home in Snowmass, CO,
set on 35 acres with views
that take your breath away, is the setting.

It was a design dilemma.
Maintaining the integrity of the architecture
while changing up the interiors to reflect a new aesthetic.
This seems to be a trend here in Aspen,
“taking mountain modern a bit further”
by creating lighter, brighter, and more colorful spaces.

A bit of remodeling, including
a new kitchen, set the stage for a fresh look.
My clients took their mountain décor,
consisting of browns and beiges,
oriental rugs, tapestry colors, etc.
and transitioned to more contemporary style.

Modern furniture, lively colors
that were inspired by a recent trip to Peru
and a bit of glam, blends with the mountain finishes,
keeping the warmth and sophistication
 of the Aspen lifestyle.

The result is perfect!
Everything feels fresh and happy!

For the living room table,we started with the
Andi-Le “Formations” cocktail table.
I created a new texture of lines and
decided it would be best to keep all 4 legs
the same design in regards to the
 placement of the stainless steel.
We went with a custom pearlized grey to
add a touch of glam.

Stay tuned for more ideas to help you
"Live Creatively"

Til next time.
