Andi-Le Aspen are works by artist Marc Katano. Marc's composition are inspired by Japanese calligraphy and the simple act of mark-making. The thick fibrous texture of the handmade Nepalese paper adds to the physicality I feel in each line. There is also an under layer covered by translucent white paint which gives added depth to these strong, broad strokes.
Living in the gallery with Marc's work gives me a wonderful sense of peace. I can feel his energy and hand clearly. It has a learned spontaneity and the composition, while being organic, has a boldness and a self assured confidence.

The renovations of 529 E. Cooper Ave are going beautifully. Yes Really.
I am creating a few architectural elements that will add to the gallery's unique vibe.
My mind seems to thrive at 2AM. Lists for my lists.
I also have had a huge desire to create benches.
The strong top component is a blank canvas waiting for texture and design.

I love the rich blue color and texture.
All it takes is one wonderful focus piece to liven up and enhance a tame area.

Hors d’oeuvres.. NO MORE REACHING! Problem solved!
Call me controlling BUT……..
As a host, I want everyone to have the chance
to taste all of my creations.
While sitting around the cocktail table,
it seems that my guests only eat what is in front of them.
Tasty hors d’oeuvres are not equally enjoyed,
unless the host moves them around.
A "NOT SO" Lazy Susan is the answer.
