An END TABLE could be your newest piece of ART
“Beware for I am fearless therefore powerful.” -Mary Shelley Frankenstein
Illustration was my major in college, I became a muralist and painted anything with a surface.
Fabric, furniture and walls were my canvas.
Sculpture and furniture making start with a pencil.
As a multidisciplinary artist I love the avenues my work can take me.
Blending art, craft, and function is an authentic artistic expression.
In my newest body of work, I combine quotes from
literature and poetry that resonates with me,
and add an illustrated aspect with the rawness and freedom of the a graffiti style.
From vandalism to a respected art form, graffiti and its mark
has a power and beauty that has captured my imagination,
and has allowed me a new voice.
that is “LITERAFFITI” :)
Preparing this canvas, involves welding 1/4” steel plate with perfect 90 degree angles,
then a good smooth layer of primer.
A little hip hop music inspires the colors and energy in the studio
An end table or drink table is the perfect place to get creative.
Add art, joy and another layer of design to your style

Who had more fun? Me or my Mentees?
The school year is almost over. I will miss my girls.
Ela my 6th grader from the Aspen Middle School was soooo into her project,
learning the benefits of custom made, thru her own need for a bedside table.
From scale, colors and design , her enthusiasm was priceless.
Genna Moe, ART BASE Director interviewing Sarah and I opening night
Ela’s presentation at the Aspen Middle School. I am sure this is an A+ !
Sarah came to me thru ART BASE in Basalt, Colorado.
With amazing community out-reach programs, classes and exhibitions,
ART BASE touches everyone’s heart thru art.
Sarah was one of the applicants for the program.
Her passions blend physics and art.
For her exhibition she created 3 large scale pieces as
meditations of light, time and space.
In her words…
“ The mentorship program has allowed me to
challenge myself as an artist in creative ways I would never before felt possible.”
She was comfortable to push boundaries and explore .
and that was my job. And my joy.
I am so proud of these girls.
Mentoring changes lives (mine included).
Mentoring builds confidence,
and confidence helps us make better life choices, see options, and problem solve.

Make a statement !!!
All it takes is one piece of statement furniture—
One truly epic piece with a unique point of view
gives a room a whole new look.
Designed to give the “wow factor” to your space,
a statement piece of furniture
is a sole item that acts as the focal point of a space.
As the designer and crafts(wo)man of this bench,
it starts with an idea (often in the middle of the night).
Then… there is the “here I go” moment….
with fingers crossed.
I tend to work directly, sculpting freely,
and with this piece I picked up my tools and got to work
You can see a bit of the process below.
Need a little oomph in your decor?
An Andi-Le one-of-a-kind piece that make a statement
could be your answer.

PURPLE ? ... In a world of neutral furniture
How many samples, trials, paint types ( dyes, tints and stains)
does it take to get the right shade of purple???
No Joke!!! I lost count.
Frustrating was the process..
The dyes and tints, when they dried
did not come close to what it looked like wet.
I use wood dye in browns, blacks, and grays with success.
After torturing myself I went moved back to a stain process that I love,
and can manipulate til it’s what I want.
“ GO BIG OR GO HOME ! “
Finally! A purple that I love for this bench.
It is royal, with depth from the many layers of undertones.
Sculptural furniture stands out as art…..
Making it purple is bold and makes a statement !
Stay tuned for the finished pic!

Not Just Wood in the Andi-Le Studio
For the past few weeks I have been contemplating
the legs for my newest undulating bench design.
Steel felt too stiff, wood was not quite right,
so I started playing with acrylic.
I have been using acrylic as an accent for years.
I love how it works with the warm, textures of wood.
One of my signature approaches to acrylic is to sand out
parts of the blocks to give a semi-transparency that captures light.
You can see how it works on the Andi-Le Alluvium Bench;
I also created a series of sculptural candles among other projects.
